QA and Test Automation Engineer

Build reliable release evidence through risk-based manual testing and useful automation. A part-time start is possible if availability covers release testing, retesting and timely defect follow-through.

Location: Hyderabad. Work-from-home arrangements may be considered and agreed later. Local candidates are preferred.

Yaaber is a mobile-first social product spanning content, live conversations, messaging, audio and video, group calls, reels and news, alongside the organisation Companion. This role works with the existing product and codebase.

Must have

• Practical manual testing of iOS, Android and responsive web applications, with risk-based regression planning and clear test cases.
• API and integration testing; authentication, permissions, privacy boundaries and guest versus member behaviour.
• Real-device testing of startup, caching, poor networks, background/resume behaviour and interrupted user journeys.
• Clear defect reports with reproduction steps, expected and actual results, build/version, environment and useful logs or recordings.
• Hands-on automation in at least one relevant tool and the ability to maintain tests in CI. Examples include Playwright, Cypress or Appium; mastery of all is not required.

Main responsibilities

• Maintain a compact regression suite covering the highest-risk flows and expand automation where it gives dependable coverage.
• Test calls and messaging across two real devices, including permission denial, interruptions, reconnection and notification behaviour.
• Check browser behaviour, responsive CSS, viewport changes and visual consistency alongside functional correctness.
• Retest fixes, separate blocked or untested cases from passes, and provide release evidence tied to the exact candidate build.

Useful additional experience

JavaScript or TypeScript test code, mobile crash/log analysis, accessibility checks, basic security testing, network inspection and performance testing.

What to share

reproducible defects, thoughtful risk prioritisation and honest test status. Automated passes must be supported by relevant real-device and browser testing.
